..I am not a so-po..just a so, so..

..and I hope whoever wins in Galas will give
a thought to the environment..
I think its about time the yellow river of Kelantan
take on the hue of a river it once was..
..it has suffered for more than two decades..
..most of my children could not remember it being anything else
except yellow..

..pic from TheStar..the river cruise that was no more..
..who would pay to cruise on a muddy river?

pic taken without permission from
..fishing for non-existence fish,,

Politicians see culture and heritage as things that need to be... err... rebuilt. Not as things to be preserved. I visited Pulau Warisan (under construction) in Kuala Terengganu a week ago. Now I know why many people object the demolition of old (historic) buildings there. Why need to bring them down in the name of development? They should help the respective owners to maintain the buildings instead. Make them look new. Like any beautiful downtown in Italy. Thus, tourists will feel Terengganu buildings as a quaint monument worth seeing, not as ordinary scraps made of metal and steel. Imagine them white folks with straw hats walking about 300 metres by the iconic landmark of Kuala Terengganu while munching kerepok lekor drenched with cuka in supek gelenya, I think that must be a wonderful experience.

Well, I cannot talk about environment anymore because it's too late already I think.

CiS
SPD...It saddens me to think that we as His Caliphs, cannot even take care of a river..the mud and silt came from the Galas area..you have to see to believe the damage being done in the name of quick gain profit..and we are all responsible for it..as Syed Qutub famously said, we have to answer for it..

Oh, how sad your river looks! That's silt, isn't it, from too much development upstream?

Yes, whoever wins, and wherever, please give a thought the the world we live in. Life isn't just about money, and making it. Life is about beauty and peace, and looking at a river and seeing the pebbles at the bottom, and fish swimming around happily.

Salam :)

Berat mata memandang berat lagi bahu memikul.. I guess the earth has been crying out loud ever since mankind has coin the word development.. may we as His Caliphs take heed..

Pak Mat, when Singapore could clean a dirty and dead river to what it is today, a clean and return to its original river system in the heart of the city; there are no reasons why we could not. If not they have renamed it to Sungei Teh Tarik. It would surely attracts tourists.

Have a nice day.
