..sunrise and newborns...

..sunrise, from in front of pakmat's home..
..back from my morning prayers,
I will normally be here for a brisk morning walk,
accompanied by my retinue of cats - Pakpong, Ayam, Pakteh and Tupai..

..having a home near the beach have its advantages..and having it just a short distance away, just enough to not get the pounding of the monsoon, added to the advantages..but where ever your house is in Bachok, it is not too far from the sea..and the sea is the South China Sea..spreading out into the horizon with a silhouette of Perhentian Islands a little bit to the north..

..early morning fishing..

..as the sea is in the east, you get to see sunrises..glorious sunrises..sunrises that will hold you enthrall and take your breath away..sometimes it is so petrifyingly beautiful, you just cannot help but gasp..and thank Him..for creating such beauty..it is not in vain, Lord..as you utter a prayer..

..scenes of Pantai Irama..

..how similar are new borns  to sunrises..they came in a cradle..and like the sunrises, bring with it hope -  through its colours, beauty and light.. lighting up every corner of the heart..every dark recesses..putting on smiles to ashened faces, wrinkled by constant toil..softening hearts hardened by squalor..evoking strange yet soothing emotions..and yet, unifying and healing through its soft rays..bridging families..

..3 of pakmat's 7 grandchildren..little sunrises, all...bringing light
and happiness into their world..along with hope for their parents..

..yes..having a home not too far from the sea have its advantages...

Tatak,
You are lucky to be able to see such views everyday. Unfortunately the waters along the shores of our sea arent as clean as before. You have to go to the islands to enjoy clean water to bathe.
The grand children will always bring grand fathers like us happiness be they newborn or older ones. How I wish to have a few of them stay with us. Life will be such a joy to live.

Pakmat, cantiknya pemandangan, macam dilukis-lukis. betul count your blessingslah...

count your blessings too for the grandchildren are the ones you shower with great love, sometimes to the detriment of their parents...

pakzawi..
there is beauty everywhere, sometimes we just missed seeing it through our hurry to go from a to b..and this time of the year, beaches of Irama Bachok is clean..white crests and the sea clear and green..comparable to the islands..and it is not in the nature of today's children to leave their children with grandparents..no..for grandparents are so out of date..:)..cheers and salam, all..

Absolutely beautiful shots, Pakmat. Sunrises are so often golden, and promise a golden day ahead.

Oooooh, such a darling baby! It's been a lonnnnnng time since I held a baby and smelt its lovely, lovely baby smell!

You must be their favourite grandpa! My children just adored my dad, and he was their hero and best pal!

Abe Mat,
Wish you were my neighbour so we can go on morning walks by the sea together. How's Ayam? purrr....meow!

..God willing, GG, God willing...you gonna have that house by the sea..here's wishing you all the best..

..hi, pat...children tend to hit it off with grandparents..maybe because we spoiled them..:)..at the very least we are not the disciplinarian like their parents..:)

my dear cat..if we were neighbours...I will be busy trying our all those dishes that you concocted in your kitchen..and I will always be there hanging out at your kitchen's door with ayam..

Salam Pak Mat
I will be the first to admit I'm not a morning person (waking up in the morning only to perform the Subuh prayers and napped right after!) but seriously, I wouldn't mind waking up for a scenery like this!!!
Thank you for sharing.

Salam Pakmat,

You are practically living where we pay to go for holidays a few days a year! Lucky you....for a newbie, you seem quite accomplished.

But as you said beauty is everywhere and it is in the eyes of the beholder.

BTW I have a shot of my daughter when she was about the same age as your lil grandaughter in the exact same pose! In fact they look quite identical....got to dig the photo out some day!

Hi Pakmat,

Not too bad for an amateur photographer. I’m glad u had taken up a ‘less dangerous ‘hobby like photography instead of ‘ornithology’….hehehe, else u get s**t all over u then.

Hey do u know why grand children get along so well with their grandparents? It’s because they share a common “enemy” lah :))

Cheers,
Tommy

P/S – Pakmat if u don’t mind me asking, do u ever think about Tsunami since u r staying near the beach?

Unknown said...

..hi, tommy..welll..you know what they say about men seeking enjoyment both in danger and play..and finding them in women..playfully dangerous..and reasons why some men go for what is forbidden..getting pleasure from the danger..but at my age, I can only point and shoot with a digicam..other things I can hardly point..let alone shoot...hehe..

..and grandparents tend to collude with their grandchildren..have you any, sifu?

..I have been thro several tsunamis already, even tho they r of the marital kind, I think the sea is more forgiving...:)

Pak Mat: Wow! awesome! house by the sea, loving family, cute chubby grandchildren...now, I understand why you are so prolific in your blog posts. Hard not to get inspired by this kind of beautiful environment.

Bang Mat, nice images here - ada seni. It's seeing pictures like these that would give me the urge "to just follow my heart, ignore `unimportant things' like food, go to KB Mall and bring back the Nikon D60... and then justify it's for "work purposes". Hmm, maybe I should also do things where a camera would really add to the product.

Actually, I *will* be going to KB after this; but it's to find Web Development textbooks.. Drupal, MySQL, CSS; this kind.

By the way, I have been thinking about living near a beach for quite some time. I've already lived in other environments, but never near the sea before. Are there kampung houses for rent at a reasonable price?

Mat Cendana said...

@Pak Idrus - Teluk Chempedak...YES, this is one very beautiful beach; with an immediate environment and the type of society that I'm comfortable with.

It's not too commercialised, and still displays the rustic charms. The people are `liberal enough' since they have had frequent contact with outsiders and foreigners.

Salam Pakmat,

Lama dah tak comment kat sini.

I living somewhere here facing the North Channel off the Straits of Melaka but nowhere can our pantai beat yours. I think it is more pristine there in Bachok. Perhaps, one day, I'll make a visit, insyaallah.

By the way, Pakmat, Ive been asked to TAG and as in turn, I'm to TAG you now...hehe...please ya Pakmat for the fun of it!

Thanks.

..dear MC..I think maybe you should go to KBMall and just get that DSLR, whatever the brand, along with your computer books..then u can point, frame and shoot..and blur the background..and you can easily get houses for rent here along the beach..if you r not too choosy..rent anything from rm150 to 300..depending on type of house..and you r welcome here..:) as of now I am about the only beachhum,,can do with the company..:)

Unknown said...

lili..:) now that you put it that way, just for the fun of it, ok,,pakmat will obliged..cheers..
