..jogging and the missus...

..carcass of a boat, pantai irama..

..for the past one week we have been jogging together, my wife and I...everyday at about six in the evening along Pantai Irama..skirting the water edge and getting our shoes wet as it is high tide in the evenings...setting out at a little estuary behind Pak Ya Gulai Kawah and headed south towards Dato Awang Adek family home...

...in the past I jogged alone..my constant cajoling  and comments on her rotundness did not get her to hit the sand...a doctor did...she was told during a routine check that her cholesterol count is a bit on the high side..so is her blood pressure....and I scared her in a worst case scenario and she buckled....

...pitting my 66 years against her 53, I realised that I am in a better form than she is...far cry from Justiffa and Jun  Malik, of course, but she is improving...unaware, our relationship also improves..something about the sea and the sand...and the pounding waves that peters into soft foam chasing little feet...and that particular hour of the day...a setting sun and a couple in the sunset years of their life...it brought about a certain intimacy of a different kind....the sky merges with the sea and it feels good to be alive..it is good to be alive....Praise be unto Him for little mercies such as these...

Love this entry especially the last para.. I am yet to get my other half to hit the road pavement.. she walked twice weekly, once to pasar tani and the other to pasar malam 1 km away from home as a form of exercise..

Pak Mat, I guess me and my other half too should take the advantage of having the sea and sunset just outside our doors, before we are forced to move elsewhere when his job requires it. But I lack the art of persuasion urgh!

indeed, very romantic!

salam pakmat ;-)

i've listened to the 2005 version, it's cool, comforting, relaxing.. and look at them, wow!

but, still i like the 63 version better because it got more emotion there.. kind of singing from the heart.. made me jiwang karat hahaha

I can sense the rejuvenated romance tallying with the increasingly good health.

Happy lovebirds!

Salam bangmat, that's a good start - hope it becomes a regular thing. Most Kelantan ladies (and some men) are rounded - I attribute that to the good and tasty food and happy life, which you had rightly said we should be thankful for.

For me I have no choice but walk up and down the farm and do some work, otherwise it'll turn to a mini jungle!

Hi Pakmat, how I wish there's a beach near the place I stay! In my hometown there's a Tanjung Mas overlooking Muar River where my hubby and I used to spend our evenings together. I could imagine how relaxing & wonderful for you and your wife to spend those beautiful evenings at Pantai Irama. Not everyone has such luxury!

Sweeeetttt....

I love to jog too. But I like to do it alone as my other half usually could not keep up with my pace. Plus, I'm not much of a talker when I exercise!

But, kudos to the both of U for exercising together!

TM pun syarikiat Kerajaan Melayu.

Macam kacang lupakan kulit. SEburuk RTM itu duit rakyat dan RTM yang selama ini menghidupkan bolasepak Malaysia.

Bila dah untung bagi kat Keling?

Salam Pak Mat,
We go for walks too but most of the time with all three kids running around. Indeed, some of the best times we have had together were on our walks/climbs.
Occasionally I would go on my own too. I think it is important to not only set aside time to be a part of a couple but also to insist on alone-time where I am just me...an individual.

this is a romantic piece la, pakmat! ;D

me and the hub bike or go for walks. not only because city jogging sucks [both verbwise and adjectivewise] but neither of us like running.

but whatever the activity, it's the doing it together that matters. i call it jelling time. :D

Dear PakMat,
I was enticed to drop by by Ayoh Wang Sharif and found your beautiful post.

....pitting my 66 years against her 53. How lovely. For me this would be, ...pitting my 46 years against his 35 ....I better start jogging on my own until I can make sure I can keep up with the hubby!

In any case, this was inspiration indeed !
